There are always people who disappear into the background during events like the SCAA Expo. People who are dedicated and hard-working, who willingly stay behind the scenes in order for the show to be a wonderful experience for the rest of us. However, if you are careful, you might catch one of these people quietly keeping the ball up in the air, often providing backup for someone ELSE that dropped that said ball.
I met one of these dear people online a few weeks ago, and later, across a counter as I checked in for my SCAA volunteer responsibilities following my late arrival due to flight delays in Atlanta. This individual was almost singlehandedly orchestrating ALL SCAA volunteer activities, dealing with issues like late arrivals with aplomb. Her patience and kindness were stellar, and I say she deserves some recognition!
